How to login to your WordPress website.
Hey there, website warrior!
Logging in to your WordPress website is the first step to owning your online space. Whether you’re about to publish your first blog post or tweak that perfect ‘About’ page, it all starts with logging in. Once a WordPress installation is done (for you) on your web server, you just have to...
1. Find your login page
Your login page is usually one of these URLs:
https://yoursite.com/wp-login.phphttps://yoursite.com/wp-admin
No luck with these links? Ask your web builder or hosting company! They should be able to help you out.
Pro tip: Bookmark this link so you can always find it quickly.
When I say “bookmark this link,” I mean: save the login page in your web browser so you can easily find it later. Just like putting a sticky note on your favorite page in a book. How? See my blog here.
2. Enter your username and password
You’ll need the username and password that were created when your WordPress website was first set up. This account is super powerful (like, website boss-level powerful), so keep it secure!
Extra tip: Avoid using ‘admin’ as your username. It’s like using ‘1234’ as your phone password.
Not the safest move!
3. Forgot your login details?
No worries! If you can’t remember your username or password, just click the “Lost your password?” link on the login screen (underneath the form fields). Fill out your email address — most likely the one used during the setup of your user account.
You’ll get an email with a reset link, and you’re back in business.
Alright, you’re all set! You’ve got this. Have fun!
Love,
Miss Clicks-a-Lot
